Ruby on Rails

I support Ruby on Rails. I would say that this is my preferred way of doing web applications—with Rails over other web languages and frameworks. I love the simplicity, intuitiveness and the power of Rails. It makes development more exciting as you can see results faster. As a designer and one who is concerned with usability, I especially like how easy it is to add Ajax to applications.

Extra Bits

The Professional Technical Communication Society (PTC) published a glossary of newly-emerged technical communication terms that my partner John Salt and I worked on defining.

The glossary contains terms for new concepts and sub-fields of the technical communication field that have been widely used lately, but whose meanings have not yet been very well defined. Some of the glossary terms include: information architecture, knowledge management, user experience, and user-centered design.
